2011

Much time has passed since last update. We apologize for that but business has kept us busy!  Thank you for looking us up!

Borrowed Kitchen has evolved! Along with the bakery and catering aspects we are now offering a hot lunch program at five local elementary schools. We are proud to say we are feeding 900+ children weekly a healthier homemade lunch option. Our current most popular lunch item is a lean ground beef hamburger served with a mini smoothie…the children are loving it!

Now that the snow is finally melting and Spring is about to start, our little roadside stand in Pownal will be opening up again. Check out our “Sugar Shack” … if the Open flag is out, you will find some sweet treats!

Happy Spring to all!

It’s been a busy time!  Since I’ve last wrote, I’ve made 10,000 plus biscuits, many, many cookies and squares, and prepared many meals.  Most importantly, there is a new addition to my family…Gabriel Peter Fullerton.  What a cutie!

I am presently gearing up for another busy season of baking for a local farm market.  With the new kitchen all ready I look forward to new business opportunities.

Spring has arrived …finally!  The crocus are up, daffodils and tulips are waiting for a bit of sunshine before they burst in to colour.  We survived Winter ….yay!!

This month I have started something new.  I am now offering a choice of two meals per delivery day.  Although the ‘meat and potato’ meals seem to be the most popular, some of my customers are looking for something a little different – Mexican Pork-Chops, Chicken Salsa, Chili Meat Pie.  We’ll see how it works out this month.

As well, Mother’s Day is this month.  I am preparing the Mother’s Day meal at the MacPhail Homestead in Orwell on Mother’s Day.  There are two sittings – 12:30 pm & 5:30 pm.  The menu features local ingredients and it will be delicious!  The menu includes slow marinated and roasted chicken & ribs, with a sweet potato side dish, fresh veggies, and a tomato salad.  And what is Spring without a little rhubarb?  Dessert features a delectabel dessert featuring ….you guessed it….Rhubarb!  So check it out, and call the MacPhail Homestead for your reservation.

Thank you for visiting Borrowed Kitchen!

Dianne, Chief Cook and Bottle Washer

Welcome to all visiting my site!  If it’s your first visit to Borrowed Kitchen, I hope you enjoy all the information.  I’ve been in business now for 9 months and it’s growing steadily.  I offer delicious ‘down-home’ cooking to people in their homes.  As well, I prepare a hot-lunch on Fridays for the children at a small rural school and also offer the children healthy muffins (available daily).  I recently started selling my baked goods at a local business.  Opportunities continue to develop and I am constantly amazed and appreciative of the support I have been receiving!

I look forward to the coming season with the freshness that Summer brings.  Fresh produce, green fields,  wonderful smelling rural aromas, and warm sunshine will be all around us very soon! It’s been a long winter on Prince Edward Island and we are ready for what spring has to offer!

Please peruse my site which I will update regularly.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments! Thank you for visiting Borrowed Kitchen!

Borrowed Kitchen is a local Prince Edward Island company offering home-cooked meals, special occasion cakes, home-baking, catering and more!  It is owned and operated by Dianne (Pippy) Fullerton.  Every delicious morsel is prepared in a Environmental Health Department inspected kitchen and prepared fresh.  Meal portions are large and many customers divide them to last two dinners.
